US-based cryptocurrency ATM provider Coinme raised $1.5 million.

US-based cryptocurrency ATM provider Coinme raised $1.5 million.

 

 

The A-1 Series funding round involved Xpring's investment arm, consisting of Ripple and Blockchain Finance Fund. In total, the company has already managed to raise $4.5 million, including through the issuance of convertible bonds.

 

The funds will be used to expand the ATM network in Central and South America, as well as in Europe. Currently, Coinme operates only in 29 states, but plans to get licenses in the rest.

 

Coinme is the operator of more than 2500 ATMs. Its network is considered to be the largest in the world.

 

According to Coin ATM Radar, as of September 14th, the total number of bitcoin ATMs around the world is 5,585. Since January 1st, 2016, this figure has increased by more than 1100%.
